The owner of the house (which I have a floor in) is one of my best friends AND lives in the building with me on the first floor for three years. Any issues with heat, electricity, plumbing are his issues, too, so, there are no issues! The apartment is a railroad. My bedroom is in the back & has a separate entrance. The next room is my spare room (the room for rent) & also has a door to house/basement (where I have a washer & dryer) then outside. You can come & go during day/night & never see me (except when I shower for work). The bed in the guest room is a double-high queen air mattress. 2 can sleep on it, but it really works better as a wide bed for one. I lived on it for two months until I got my bed & I think it is comfortable. If you are uncomfortable sleeping on the air mattress, my couch in the livingroom is a futon couch that folds out & sleeps 2. However, if you intend to sleep in livingroom (where my desktop computer resides), we will have to come to some scheduling agreements. Through the next door is the livingroom & kitchen. The bathroom is off the livingroom. There are only two windows in the apartment located in the kitchen (it is a basement apartment). This is fabulous for me because I work nights. It also keeps the apartment amazingly cool in the summer & warm in the winter. The only drawback I have found for some who stay with me is that I have low ceilings- 6'5. I am 6'1 & bump my head occasionally on kitchen light fixture. Otherwise, the apartment is ideal for my needs & the needs of short-term out-of-town guests. I have internet & wireless internet for your use. There is ample public transportation around town & to NYC located 1 & 1/2 blocks from the house. 20 minutes to Times Square Theatre District, 18 minutes to Greenwich Village, downtown NYC. |
